Connect MetaTrader 5 to the Journal with an investor password

Create a Journal track record, select MetaTrader5 and enter the server, login and investor password. Required fields and the HTML file alternative.

To connect MetaTrader 5 to the Journal, you need the account server, login and investor password. The investor password provides read-only access and is the recommended credential for the Journal.

Connect the account from the Journal

  1. Open the Journal, go to Storici (track records) and select Crea un nuovo storico (create a new track record).
  2. In Crea Nuovo Storico, complete Nome (name), Saldo Iniziale (initial balance), Valuta (currency) and Tags Template.
  3. Enable Connetti Account in Tempo Reale (connect a live account) and select MetaTrader5.
  4. Enter the account’s Server, Login and Investor Password.
  5. Read the connection terms and confirm with Crea Storico (create track record).

Check the account credentials

The server and login must match the account you want to connect. Use its investor password, not the password for your broker’s client area.

Some brokers and prop firms restrict external connections or permitted IP addresses. Check the provider’s conditions before connecting the account.
