Interactive Brokers: export a Flex Query and import the CSV into the Journal

Set up an execution confirmation Flex Query in Interactive Brokers, download the CSV and select Interactive Brokers in the TotalTrade Journal.

The TotalTrade Journal uses file imports for Interactive Brokers. Prepare the CSV in the IB portal with an execution confirmation Flex Query.

Set up the Flex Query

  1. Sign in to the Interactive Brokers portal and open Performance e Resoconti → Flex Query (performance and reports).
  2. Select + beside Flex query di conferma degli eseguiti (execution confirmation Flex Query).
  3. Under Sezioni (sections), open Conferma degli eseguiti (execution confirmation). Select Esecuzione (execution), then Seleziona tutti (select all) and SALVA (save).
  4. Choose CSV. Set the date format to yyyyMMdd, time format to HHmmss, and Separatore Data/Ora (date/time separator) to punto e virgola (semicolon).
  5. Select Continua (continue), check the settings and confirm with Crea (create).
  6. Select Ok to return to Flex Queries.

Run the query and download the CSV

  1. In the Flex Query list, select Esegui (run), the blue arrow to the right of the query.
  2. Set the report’s start and end dates.
  3. Select ESEGUI (run) and download the CSV.

Import the file into the Journal

  1. Open the Journal, go to Storici (track records) and select Crea un nuovo storico (create a new track record). If you already have a manual track record, open it for editing and go to step 3.
  2. Set Nome (name), Saldo Iniziale (initial balance) and Valuta (currency). Choose a Tags Template if you want to use one. Leave Connetti Account in Tempo Reale (connect a live account) off and select Crea Storico (create track record).
  3. Open the track record for editing. Under Modifica lo storico (edit track record), select Importa da file (import from file) and choose Interactive Brokers.
  4. Drag the exported file into the upload area or select Seleziona file (select file). The same panel contains the provider’s written instructions and video.
